Blazing Hearts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to changing the landscape of sports by providing training and exposure to amateur athletes in a safe, secure, and holistic environment that builds the complete athlete mentally, physically, socially, financially, and spiritually to be champions for life who give back to their community.

OUR IMPACT

Blazing Hearts understands that access to sports is not always financially feasible, and we work to provide opportunities for youth athletes to receive training and be on teams through fundraising, events, and sponsorships. We believe all kids should be able to experience the benefits of sports and being part of a team.

Blazing Hearts was established to help make this dream a reality for youth in our area.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

What Blazing Hearts has accomplished so far:

Created club teams in basketball and volleyball for both girls and boys ages 10 - 18 (38 teams in 2023-24 season)
Developed a life coaching and recruiting program for youth athletes transitioning to college to gain academic and athletic scholarships
Provided support, coaching, and apparel (uniform and shoes) for youth girls through a special basketball camp and competition
Utilized relationships built between athletes in our adult basketball program and Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley to provide a basketball camp.
Provide young women with leadership development through competitive team coaching
Offer co-op work program for high school and college students to develop their customer service and communication skills

THE FUTURE

What Blazing Hearts aspires to accomplish in the future:

Provide scholarships for athletes to participate in Wisconsin Blaze teams and training programs
Workshops (i.e. Leadership workshops for girls, run by female coaches)
Camps for underprivileged youth
Training for underprivileged youth
Travel arrangements to get youth to individual, group, and team programs
Volunteer opportunities for our athletes to give back with community organizations (i.e. Boys & Girls Clubs, Feeding America)

THE POWER OF SPORTS

Research shows the many benefits of participation in youth sports.

Sports have a life-changing impact on those who participate.
Sport has the power to inspire, unite people from diverse backgrounds and create hope.
Sport can bridge the gaps that divide us.
Benefits of sports include improved mental and emotional health, confidence, a sense of empowerment, connection and community.
We learn to put our differences aside for a greater goal.
Sports are a vehicle to teach our youth the lessons of leadership, good health, teamwork, fair play, self-reliance and continuous improvement.
Sports are particularly powerful for young girls, and for both genders, studies have demonstrated that participating in sport can lead to better performance in school and better lives once students have graduated.
Sport isn’t just important because we can play it our whole lives, but also because the lessons we learn in sports stay with us.
Sports build communities of like-minded individuals who support and encourage each other.
In sports we face obstacles and we learn to overcome them. We are able to grow through challenges because the path is never a straight line.
Sports teach us about responsibility, commitment and dedication. By participating, we make a commitment to ourselves, our team and our coaches.
Sports teach humility.
Sports build our work ethic and teach us the benefits of working hard and giving our best effort.
